5th Annual Baytowne Film Festival - Celluloid Expressionism
With a passion for film and an overwhelming desire to support the spirit of the independent filmmaker, The Village of Baytowne Wharf presents the 5th Annual Baytowne Film Festival, November 10-12, 2006. This year’s theme of Celluloid Expressionism highlights the art form of independent filmmaking as a representation of the filmmaker’s state of mind, rather than the reality of the world. The three-day festival gives film buffs the opportunity to see quality productions that have not been widely released and are typically screened only in larger cities.
Feature films, shorts and documentaries, many of which have won awards at previous well-known festivals, will be included in the line-up. We are in the selection process now but this year’s program should be the strongest yet. “We
plan on screening a wide range of films from across the globe,” said Adam Shiland,
festival director and founder. Shiland says the movies will range from those
with mass appeal to some that may be considered controversial.
